Iowa City Hospice seeks a compassionate Music Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team (32 hrs/wk) in Mason City, IA. You will use music to enhance quality of life, provide emotional support, and create meaningful connections for patients and families facing serious illness and end-of-life journeys.

Responsibilities include developing personalized therapy plans, delivering individual and group sessions, and documenting progress in EMR.

Formación

• Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
• Certification or licensure as a Music Therapist (MT-BC or equivalent) is required/licensed.
• Experience in clinical/therapeutic settings preferred, with healthcare setting exposure.
• Strong musical skills across instruments and ensembles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Iowa City Hospice is seeking a compassionate, creative, and dedicated Music Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team 32 hrs/wk. As a Music Therapist, you will develop personalized therapeutic interventions that support the emotional, cognitive, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of those in our care. • Assess patient needs and develop individualized music therapy plans that align with care goals.

• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress.
• Stay current with music therapy research, best practices, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program
• Certification or licensure as a Music Therapist (e.g., MT-BC or equivalent)
• Proven experience in clinical or therapeutic settings with1 year of music therapy experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Strong musical skills and proficiency with a variety of instruments
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to therapy
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and ethical standards related to therapy practice
• Demonstrates computer literacy with the ability to efficiently learn software applications, efficiently and accurately complete all documentation in electronic medical records systems, and efficiently and effectively use Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
• The employee is required to have access to a car, have a current driver's license, or have arranged other transportation that is readily available.
