Job summary

Brighton/Suncrest Hospice is seeking a licensed Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our team PRN. The role supports hospice patients with music therapy sessions and legacy projects, averaging about 40 visits per month.

Duties include assessments, treatment as prescribed, and documentation of progress. Availability for IDG meetings Wednesdays 12–4 PM is expected when possible, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• MT-BC certification required.
• Must hold active state license.
• Minimum of 1 year of music therapy experience.
• Completed music therapy degree requirements.
• Willingness to drive with reliable transportation and valid license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, evaluations, and develop goals.
• Provide music therapy sessions as prescribed.
• Document services and client responses.
• Attend team conferences and participate in improvement activities.
• Work with families and staff across outreach settings.
• Improvise in clinical settings as needed.

Details

We are seeking a licensed and board certified Music Therapist to join our team PRN. This is a contracted postion. The visit volume may vary, but currently the Music Therapist will complete approximately 40 visits per month and attend IDG meetings every Wednesday from 12–4 PM, if available. Services include music therapy sessions and legacy projects, depending on patient/family requests.

The Music Therapist is responsible for providing music therapy services to hospice patients according to their plan of care. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs assessments, evaluations, and establishes a plan and goals
• Performs music therapy treatments as prescribed by the Attending Physician and the Suncrest Hospice team
• Reports on client's response to treatment or any changes in condition
• Documents services delivered using electronic methods on day of service
• Attends team conferences upon request
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, as requested.
• Ability to work well with verbal and non-verbal clients with a range of disabilities
• Connect with families and staff in a variety of outreach settings

Qualifications

• Currently Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC)
• Must be licensed
• One year of music therapy experience
