Job summary

Brighton Hospice in Michigan is seeking a Music Therapist to provide specialized services to hospice patients. You will assess, plan, and implement music therapy per the care plan, documenting outcomes and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

The role requires MT-BC certification, aMusic Therapy degree, and at least 1 year of experience, plus a valid driver's license. Travel may be required to reach patients and outreach settings.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential.
• Minimum of 1 year of music therapy experience.
• Willing to drive with reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide music therapy services per plan of care.
• Perform assessments and establish goals for patients.
• Deliver treatments as prescribed by physician and team.
• Document services in electronic health records on day of service.
• Attend team conferences and participate in Performance Improvement activities.
• Work with clients with diverse disabilities and engage families.
• Proactive outreach to staff and families in various settings.

Details

The Music Therapist is responsible for providing music therapy services to hospice patients according to their plan of care. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performs assessments, evaluations, and establishes a plan and goals
• Performs music therapy treatments as prescribed by the Attending Physician and the Suncrest Hospice team
• Reports on client's response to treatment or any changes in condition
• Documents services delivered using electronic methods on day of service
• Attends team conferences upon request
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities, as requested.
• Ability to work well with verbal and non-verbal clients with a range of disabilities
• Connect with families and staff in a variety of outreach settings
• Ability to improvise in a clinical setting

Qualifications

• Currently Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC)
• One year of music therapy experience
• Completed Music Therapy Degree Requirements
• Must be willing to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver's license and required vehicle insurance
