Job summary

School of Rock Waldwick is seeking enthusiastic, flexible part-time Music Teachers to guide students on their musical journeys. We offer lessons across 5 core instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, and Vocals, with emphasis on live performance.

We are currently experiencing high demand and prefer instructors who can teach Keys (Piano) and Voice. We provide paid training, access to our patented curriculum, and opportunities to advance into Show Director and Music Director roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience teaching music or performing music professionally.
• Solid knowledge of music theory and ability to read music notation.

Responsibilities

• Teach private music lessons across instruments using our curriculum.
• Create a safe, encouraging atmosphere that helps students progress.
• Help students prepare for live shows in our performance-based programs.
• Navigate our digital teaching tools after training.
• Keep a professional log of each lesson using our template.

The Opportunity:

What You'll Do:

• Teach private music lessons across a wide range of student ages and skill levels using our patented curriculum. (paid training on our curriculum)
• Create a safe, cool, and encouraging atmosphere that helps students achieve musical proficiency.
• Help students prepare to hit the stage for our live, performance-based rock shows.
• Comfortably navigate our digital teaching tools after our paid training.
• Keep a professional log of each lesson following our simple template.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 4+ years of experience teaching music and/or performing music professionally. An ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training.
• Musical Expertise: Solid knowledge of music theory and the ability to confidently read music notation.

Schedule & Availability Requirements:

• Available Shifts: Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM – 9:00 PM) and Fridays (3:00 PM – 7:00 PM).
• Minimum Commitment: Candidates must have a steady, reliable schedule and be regularly available a minimum of 2 days a week.
