Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Music Teacher to join our team! As the Music Teacher, you will teach music, help students prepare for auditions, guide them through their musical journey, inspire them to use music as an outlet and form of self-expression, and serve as a mentor. You will teach on-site, sell lesson books and supplementary learning materials through the store stock. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching students, excellent leadership skills, and a talent for developing young musicians.

Please attach your resume! We are specifically looking for teachers who can teach violin, viola, cello, and piano. While there is some flexibility, proficiency in at least these three instruments at the beginner to intermediate levels is required. We do not need Julliard-level players; we are seeking individuals who can teach these instruments from the beginning to mid-level. Applicants should be teachers, not performers.

Responsibilities
  1. Choose activities and lessons, and prepare students for performances based on their skill levels and availability.
  2. Select students with similar skill sets to join group lessons to learn how to create music collaboratively under guidance.
  3. Assess each student's skills and work with them to develop their individual abilities.
  4. Assess students' group skills and foster teamwork in a group environment.
  5. Attend staff meetings as needed.
  6. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lesson room.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching music is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Leadership and time management abilities.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
