Job description

We are looking for a Little Wing Teacher to join our team. The Little Wing Teacher creates a warm, supportive, and inspiring environment for young musicians aged 3, 4, and 5.

School of Rock’s Little Wing program encourages 3-5 year old to reach their developmental milestones through fun musical activities. The classes were designed to inspire the social and cognitive development of a child while enriching their language, literacy, and physical development.

The Little Wing Teacher’s responsibilities include:

1. Preparing for and conducting each Little Wing session.
2. Teaching the Little Wing program in a fun and engaging manner.
3. Demonstrating a warm command of the lesson room.
4. Communicating students’ musical progress to parents.

The ideal candidate has the following characteristics:

1. Enthusiastic, with high energy, yet persistently calm in their dealings with kids and parents.
2. Relates well to parents and kids, and has a pleasant voice.
3. Happy person with a positive demeanor on the phone and in person; someone who smiles often.
4. Understands the basics of music (pitch & beat) but doesn’t need to be a musician.
5. May have had a theatrical past and understands how to engage an audience; a dance or vocals background is a plus but not required.
6. Has a passion for and experience working with children under the age of six (6).
7. Is organized and prepared.
8. Having educational credits in early childhood development is a plus but not required.
