Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking a Music Teacher for grades 3–5 at the Arlington Lower School. The teacher will deliver the Great Hearts music curriculum, foster a joyful classroom, and support students’ artistic growth in a standards-based program.

The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, ongoing professional development, and adherence to school culture and safety procedures within a community committed to classical liberal arts education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree required for a lead teaching role.
  • Certification is not required for general education.
  • All majors are welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
  • Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
  • Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
  • Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Location: Great Hearts Arlington Lower School (6701 S Cooper St. Arlington, TX 76001)

Reports To: Headmaster

FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt
