Great Hearts Academies invites applications for K-5 Teacher positions at our Lower Schools in San Antonio. You will teach using the Great Hearts curriculum, nurture wonder, and support student growth in core subjects like Phonics, Mathematics, History, Science, and Literature.

You will have an Assistant/ApprenticeTeacher in the classroom and participate in ongoing professional development within a values-driven environment. Strong communication with families is essential.

• Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.

Position Title: K-5 Teachers (Multiple Openings)

Location: Great Hearts Lower Schools in San Antonio

Reports To: Headmaster

FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

About the K-5 Teacher Role:

As a Homeroom Teacher you provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning.

Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature.

As a Homeroom Teacher you enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in your classroom.

Required/Preferred Education:

• Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
• Certification is not required for general education
• All majors are welcome
• US Work Authorization is required.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
• Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
