A leading non-profit organization in New York City seeks a passionate music teacher to enhance music education in public schools. The role involves coordinating programs, producing concerts, and fostering a love for music among students. Education Through Music is a non-profit organization partnering with New York City Public Schools to reintegrate music education into school curricula. We support teachers who are not certified to teach in public schools by providing a pathway to certification, program development, and eventual employment within the DOE. Serving all five boroughs, we collaborate with 50 schools and reach over 18,000 children, emphasizing music’s role in social, emotional, and educational equity.
Responsibilities:
Note: Applicants without 'eligible' status for NYC DOE classroom teaching will need to undergo fingerprinting and background checks through the NYC DOE PETS system. Only those with approved 'eligible' status can be hired by ETM.
