Job summary

Fusion Academy Houston seeks a Music Teacher for a fully personalized, 1-to-1 teaching model. You will design creative lessons, adapt content to each learner, and mentor students while supporting their social-emotional growth.

You’ll build strong partnerships with families, collaborate with staff, and keep detailed student records. A growth mindset, tech fluency, and a passion for student-centered learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees, music certifications, or a teaching credential is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to teach a wide range of music courses with curriculum provided.
• Experience with contemporary recording and music production tools and DAWs.
• Experience working with diverse learners and social-emotional learning.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; growth mindset.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degreerequired; advanceddegrees, music certifications,or a teaching credential is a plus.

• Ability and willingness to teach a wide range ofmusiccourses(recording arts,music appreciation, music theory,bass, drums, guitar, keyboard,piano, songwriting, & vocals),following content standards — curriculum and resources provided.

• Experiencewith the tools and techniques associated with contemporary recording and music production: microphones, digital audio, audio editing, MIDI and virtual instruments, audio effects&processors, synthesis, sampling, and mixing.

• Proficiencywith at least two of the three industry standard DAWs—ProTools, Logic,&Ableton Live.

• Experienceworking with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges.

• Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning.

• Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment.

• Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed.
