Job description

The Music Director will serve as a vital member of the Worship leadership team, overseeing the musical direction and execution of worship services and events. This position is responsible for leading the band, developing worship team members, and ensuring excellence in all worship environments. The Music Director will collaborate closely with the Worship Pastor, as well as other worship leaders and technical teams to create a dynamic and engaging worship experience that aligns with the church’s vision and message.

You will responsible for:
  • Oversee and lead the band for worship services and church events, while developing other MD’s to serve during worship services and events.
  • Work with the Worship Pastors to select music that aligns with the message and worship goals.
  • Supply and manage tracks to enhance worship experiences across various environments (kids, youth, young adults, Celebrate Recovery, and main stage).
  • Encourage innovative ideas and creativity in worship, incorporating diverse musical styles.

Team Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor musicians and develop other MD’s.
  • Organize quarterly training sessions to elevate the quality and standard of the worship team. Collaborate with the Worship Pastors and Worship Roundtable leadership to plan development nights for musicians.
  • Develop and nurture musicians across all age groups (kids, youth, adults, etc.) for leadership roles.

Administration & Coordination:

  • Organize and maintain the church’s music library and resources.
  • Coordinate and arrange music for seasonal and special church events (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Nights of Worship, live recordings).
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure proper audio and visual setups for worship services.
  • Help manage the music ministry budget, including financial resources, instruments, and music needs, in partnership with the Worship Pastors.
  • Regularly assess and improve the music ministry’s impact on worship services.
  • Stay current with new worship music and trends to keep the ministry fresh and relevant.

Education & Experience
  • Experience and maturity valued over formal education.
  • 2+ years of full-time experience in a music director role.
  • Proven track record of dependable leadership and good stewardship, both organizationally and personally
