Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a qualified full-time Music/Art Therapist to join our team of dedicated Behavioral Health professionals working with adults and adolescents dealing with psychiatric and/or substance abuse issues.

The Music/Art Therapist plans, organizes, coordinates, and leads recreation therapy activities. They will ensure the program is appropriate to the needs, interests, and capacities of patients and is directed toward restoring and maintaining optimal levels of physical and psychosocial functioning. Responsibilities also include assessing each patient within seventy-two (72) hours of admission and completing daily progress notes on patients' participation toward recreation goals.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given routines and practices
• Master's degree in Music or Art Therapy
• At least 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or Long Term Care setting providing Music or Art Therapy (preferred)
• Current certification in Recreation Therapy or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire

Physical Requirements:

• Extensive sitting, standing, walking, reading, lifting over 50 lbs., and participation in active recreational programs
• Ability to assist with restraints for individuals weighing up to 250 pounds
