University of North Carolina at Pembroke is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to fill an adjunct pool for AY 26-27 in the Music Department. The positions are 0.5 FTE with a 20-hour workweek and a flexible schedule, teaching a range of music courses on the main campus.

Candidates should hold a Master’s in Music (Doctorate preferred) and demonstrate ability to design online courses in Canvas. A strong teaching record and prior higher education experience are highly valued.

Min T/E Requirements: Master's Degree in Music or a related field that includes a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in Music - Doctorate in Music is preferred. Significant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a Master's or Doctoral Degree. Strong consideration will be afforded to candidates who exhibit a demonstrated record of professional experience and success in undergraduate teaching. For positions that may include online teaching, candidates are expected to demonstrate an ability to successfully structure an online course in Canvas.

Job Description: The Department of Music may have a need for part-time faculty to teach courses in the following subject areas: Voice, Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Percussion, Jazz Piano, Jazz Guitar, Jazz Bass, Drum Set, Class Piano, Class Strings, Class Guitar, Voice, Music Appreciation, Jazz Appreciation, Global Music, Rhythm and Rock, Intro to Hip-Hop, Jazz Combo, Private Improvisation, Chamber Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Music Theory, Music History, Songwriting, Music Industry, Musical Theatre, and Dance. We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings.

These positions are especially suited for potential faculty who possess terminal degrees in Music or have a minimum of 18 hours of approved graduate course work in relevant fields of Music.
