Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to classify antiques, documents and historical items preferred.
• Willingness to participate in continuing education in museum studies and historic preservation.
• 1 year of museum-related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of historical research and educational display techniques is preferred.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing museum operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and assist patrons in person and by phone.
• Lead guided tours of the Man House Museum.
• Assist with educational programs and events and help plan and run special events.
• Assist with historical and genealogical research and help patrons locate information.
• Assist with changing exhibits and organizing exhibit materials.
• Compile and organize historical documents and photographs.
• Care for historical furnishings and museum spaces.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
