Job summary

The University of Florida’s Museum is seeking a part-time OPS Museum Visitor Services Rep to welcome visitors at the Main Campus in Gainesville. You will greet guests, answer questions, and assist with tickets and store purchases, helping to create a positive first impression for every guest.

Required are a high school diploma, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule (including weekends).

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to interact positively with a diverse range of visitors and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting Museum visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Selling exhibition tickets and assisting with admissions.
• Assisting customers in the Museum Store.
• Answering and directing calls via the multi-line phone system.
• Providing information and directions to visitors.
• Handling cash and POS transactions.
• Maintaining a welcoming and positive environment for visitors.
• Performing other visitor service duties as needed.
