Responsibilities

• Manage cash drawers, prepare daily banking, and assist with deposits as needed.

Museum Shop Team Leader Part-Time

Purpose:

The Jefferson Vineyards Supervisor oversees daily Tasting Room operations, including inventory management and retail fulfillment, while providing exceptional customer service. This position ensures Jefferson Vineyards remains a welcoming destination that offers a rich, wine-history-centered experience. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary for this position. Retail team training and supervision are required.

Compensation:

$17.12-$18.00 per hour

Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to provide administrative and sales support for all retail locations. This position may also function as an opener/closer for both shops.

Essential Functions:

• Deliver superior customer service and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to perform such functions as greeting and assisting customers, being available to assist guests, and handling all in the moment customer inquiries and complaints.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Coaching and disciplining employees, as needed. Lead by example. Share and drive daily, monthly and yearly revenue goals with staff.
• Enforce company policies related to safety, dress code, and other matters.
• Cash management for both shops including the preparation of daily register banks, reconciliations of cash drawers, and occasional deposit preparation and submittal.
• Additional tasks at the request of the Manager of Retail Stores.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Multitasking skills to perform a variety of tasks as requested by the Store Manager.
• Strong interpersonal skills to set the stage for interactions with employees and guests.
• Oral communication skills to facilitate the sharing of information with staff and guests.
• Observation skills to spot issues on the floor and see that they are resolved promptly.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and all applications, the ability to operate a POS (Shopify).
• Cash management skills to perform daily opening and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of merchandise in both shops to communicate accurate information to guests and staff.
• Daily company knowledge to communicate accurately with staff and guests.
• Ability to move throughout the Shop and stockroom with ease to perform necessary restocking

Physical Demands and Work Considerations

• This position is in both shops. Both can become noisy and the individual in this position must be able to maintain focus and accuracy in this ever changing environment.
• The Farm Shop is located on the mountaintop, so the ability to walk to this shop on steep and uneven ground is necessary.
• Flexibility is necessary due to non-traditional shifts such as early mornings, late evenings, holidays, weekends, or split shifts based on staffing and forecasted sales.
• Ability to work all signature events as necessary including the Fourth of July.
• Stamina due to standing at the registers and being on sales floors for long periods of time is required

Education

• High School Diploma
• 3 – 5-year front line customer service specifically in a supervisory role.
