The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia seeks a Museum Facilities Specialist for the Evening Shift. You will maintain the building and grounds, ensuring a first-class visitor experience and smooth operations for guests and staff.

Responsibilities include handling daily work orders, moving furniture for events, stocking supplies, and ensuring safe, clean work areas. A hospitality/museum background and OSHA/ SDS familiarity are valued.

Formación

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining first-class, one-of-a-kind buildings.
  • Hospitality or museum setting experience preferred.
  • Ability to read chemical SDS sheets.
  • Ability to complete Barnes Foundation customer service training.
  • Ability to pass OSHA ladder and lift training.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist visitors, guests and staff, providing the highest level of customer service in a welcoming manner.
  • Resolve problems in a polite, helpful and accurate manner with staff and visitors.
  • Read and understand daily work orders and assignments.
  • Adhere to Foundation policies including attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
  • Perform tasks to maintain appearance and order of the building and grounds.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are clean, tidy and organized.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning, restroom and break room products.
  • Use industrial-strength chemicals as needed throughout the site.
  • Move and arrange furniture for events, meetings and office relocations.
  • Set up and take down signage and stanchions.
  • Ensure event areas are ready and in proper order before, during, and after events.
  • Receive, distribute mail and package deliveries; stock printed material and office supplies.
  • Assist maintenance staff with equipment and building maintenance work.
  • Report health and safety issues to the facility manager.

Primary Function:

The Museum Facilities Specialist, Evening Shift is responsible under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager for providing a first-class experience to the Foundation’s visitors, guests, and employees by maintaining the Foundation’s building and grounds with continual care and maintenance.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Education or Equivalent
  • Experience providing maintenance and care for first class one-of-a-kind buildings
  • Prior experience working in a hospitality or museum setting is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand chemical SDS sheets
  • Ability to take and pass the Barnes Foundation associate level customer service training
  • Ability to take OSHA ladder and lift training and pass

Moving:
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts with minimal rest breaks.

Communication Requirements:

Working Conditions:
  • Position operates in the foundation’s buildings and on the foundation’s grounds at the Philadelphia campus.
Equipment Use:
  • Use of ladders, lifts, manual pallet jack, furniture dollies and powered cleaning equipment
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist visitors, guests and staff providing the highest level of customer service, answer questions and provide information in a welcoming manner.
  • Resolves problems in a way that is helpful, polite, and accurate with staff and visitors.
  • Read and understand daily work orders and assignments.
  • Adheres to Foundation policies, including those regarding attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
  • Perform tasks to maintain appearance and order of the building and grounds.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are clean, tidy, and properly organized.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning, restroom and break room products.
  • Use of industrial strength chemicals as needed throughout the site.
  • Maintain areas of the building as assigned.
  • Maintain wood and stone flooring with wood and stone care products
  • Maintain window glass using high reaches throughout the facility
  • Maintain breakroom areas including refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwasher.
  • Moves and arranges furniture including tables, chairs, stage and other furniture and fixtures for events, meetings and office relocations.
  • Set up and take down signage and stanchions
  • Ensure areas scheduled for events are ready and in proper order before, during, and after event.
  • Receive and distribute mail and package deliveries.
  • Receive distribute and stock printed material and office supplies.
  • Assists maintenance staff with equipment and building maintenance work.
  • Receive and distribute loading dock deliveries utilizing manual pallet jack.
  • Reports the presence of animals, vermin, insects, water leaks, maintenance needs, and all health and life safety issues to the facility manager
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management and staff.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
