Job summary

The Intrepid Museum in New York, NY seeks two per diem Educators to deliver on- and off-site programs using the Museum's collection for K12 students, families and adults, including learners with cognitive, sensory, physical, emotional and behavioral disabilities. Hours are varied, with a minimum of three days per week and training provided.

Responsibilities include delivering interactive programs 10:00am–2:00pm on weekdays, plus weekend/evening programs, and occasional offsite sessions at

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, science, history, museum studies or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Equivalent of one-year related experience with varied populations in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with object- and inquiry-based teaching practices.
• Comfortable teaching interdisciplinary history and science programs to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive programs for general K12 education, inclusion, ICT and special education classes, mainly 10:00am–2:00pm, weekdays.
• Deliver programs for families, veterans, camps and events, including weekends/evenings.
• Deliver offsite programs at schools, memory care centers and community fairs.
• Deliver adult group tours and programs at the Museum.
