Job summary

Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (RAFFMA) seeks a Student Assistant for duties across front desk administration, education programs, and collections support on the San Bernardino Campus. The role includes greeting visitors, guiding tours, assisting with events, and helping maintain exhibits and records.

You will work under supervision to support learning and engagement activities, coordinate with staff on programs, and gain hands-on museum experience while balancing class schedules.

Responsibilities

• Museum Front Desk/Administration: greet guests and visitors to the museum at the Front Desks or events; provide accurate information and directions to the public about the campus and RAFFMA exhibits and services
• Assist with museum events and public programs including setup, tear-down, gallery monitoring, and clean-up; advance notice will be provided
• Answer and direct phone calls as needed; communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and the public
• Organization of museum storage (physical and digital)
• Guiding art activities and museum tours; lead tours of collections and exhibitions
• Assist museum staff by acting as gallery guides and monitors
• Familiarization with the exhibitions and museum practice and etiquette; training provided
• Education & Events: lead tours, work with Learning and Engagement to create activities, worksheets, lessons, crafts; plan and organize events; assist staff at events
• Collections: handle object handling requirements; work with Collections to produce condition reports, update database records, handle requests, inventory, storage and rehousing initiatives
