Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Munitions Handler in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The role involves warehousing, stock movement, inventory, and disassembly/destruction of munitions within controlled environments.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required. The position includes safety-sensitive duties, overtime, and training; experience with LMP and scanning tools is a plus, and forklift operation may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 0-1 year of general work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Must satisfactorily complete Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working Ammunition Operations within 90 days of hire.
• Must be willing to be trained to operate forklift/fork truck or material handling lifting devices.
• Willing and able to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.
• Computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
• Ability to speak publicly and communicate clearly during normal and crisis situations.
• Demonstrated willingness to be a team player.
• Must have valid Driver’s License and pass an MVR check with a clean record.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs warehousing duties involving movement of ordnance items or components into/out of storage facilities, physical inventory, storage arrangement, accessibility, inspect, loading, and packaging.
• Processes may be manual, technical, and mechanically assisted within storage, receipt, shipment, inspection, of explosive ordnance items or components.
• Perform destruction and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components.
• Operate automated systems within a munitions demilitarization process.
• Follow all pertinent local, state, and federal compliance documents and procedures.
• Perform all work safely, with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees, in compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
