Job summary

The City of Cincinnati is seeking seasonal yard waste collectors to operate within City limits as part of the Neighborhood Operations Division. You will collect yard waste during the spring to fall season, with schedule variability due to weather and workload.

Minimum 18 years old with a HS diploma or GED; reliable, self-motivated, with a good work ethic. You must provide your own transportation and hold a valid driver's license; CDL with airbrake is preferred.

Job description

This assignment is within the Neighborhood Operations Division (NOD). The employee will be required to collect yard waste within the City of Cincinnati limits. Yard waste is collected seasonally typically between April 1st and December 31st , even in inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, heat, humidity).

Non-Competitive This is a Noncompetitive position that includes an evaluation of the applications to determine if the applicants meet the minimum requirements as outlined in the "Required Education and Experience" section. A Noncompetitive process may also consist of other components, such as a qualifying test, to determine if the applicant is able to perform the duties of the position. Applications that meet the minimum requirements will be forwarded to the hiring department for consideration. "Very Heavy Work "means exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and /or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

MILITARY EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION

Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case by case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
