Job summary

WHKS & Co is seeking a professional engineer with transportation design experience in Minnesota. The role focuses on municipal, transportation, and related infrastructure projects including utility and roadway design, site work, and quantity estimates.

The candidate will support design and management efforts with a flexible, collaborative team. The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering, a Minnesota license (or within 6 months), and 5+ years in municipal/transportation design.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• MN E. license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 5+ years in municipal or transportation design.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, contractors, and peers.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley CONNECT OpenRoads Designer, and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Municipal utility, drainage, roadway, site design, and other engineering support functions.
• Design and prepare roadway construction documents, including typical/cross sections, erosion and sediment control plans, maintenance of traffic, stormwater management, drainage design, signing and pavement marking plans, and right-of-way plans.
• Perform other design-related tasks, such as quantity calculations, geometric calculations, roadway layout, grading plans, utility layouts, and subdivision layout.
• Develop 2D and 3D models using Civil 3D and/or Bentley CONNECT OpenRoads Designer.
