WHKS & Co in Eagan, MN is seeking an entry-level civil engineer to join our municipal, transportation, water, and site development project teams. You will work with a team of engineers to design infrastructure and gain hands-on experience.

Responsibilities include design calculations, reports, and plans; 2D/3D modeling with Civil 3D or Bentley; data collection, field work, and construction observation. A BS in Civil Engineering and FE eligibility within 6 months are required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• FE exam eligibility within 6 months.
• 0–5 years of civil design experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent computer and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and MS Office is desirable.
• Knowledge of MnDOT specifications is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage workload independently.

• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for municipal projects such as sanitary and storm sewer improvements, roadway resurfacing and maintenance, and water/utility plans.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for transportation projects including new roadways, pavement rehab, and intersections.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and plans for site development projects such as parking lots, drainage and parks.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and plans for water and wastewater projects such as treatment facility improvements and lift stations.
• Develop 2D and 3D models using Civil 3D and/or Bentley CONNECT OpenRoads Designer.
• Assist with data collection at project sites, technical report writing, quantity/engineering calculations.
• Assist with facilitating project-related public information meetings.
• Perform construction observation: field testing, material reports, and documenting discrepancies.

As an entry-level civil engineer, you will work closely with a team of engineers to play a vital role in the design of municipal, transportation, water, wastewater, site development, and other infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Include

• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for municipal projects such as sanitary and storm sewer improvement, roadway resurfacing and maintenance, closed drainage systems, lead water service line replacement, watermain improvements, utility plans, bike trails and shared-use paths.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and plans for transportation projects such as new roadway, pavement rehabilitation, intersection improvements, freeway interchanges, maintenance of traffic, drainage ditches, sidewalks, and crosswalks.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and plans for site development projects such as parking lots, closed drainage systems, drainage detention, driveway design, residential subdivisions, school drop off areas and parks and recreation areas.
• Prepare design calculations, reports and plans for water and wastewater projects such as water treatment facility improvements, wastewater treatment facility improvements, sanitary sewer lift stations, gravity flow systems and water towers.
• Develop 2D and 3D models using Civil 3D and/or Bentley CONNECT OpenRoads Designer.
• Assist with data collection at project sites, technical report writing, quantity calculations and design calculations.
• Assist with facilitating project-related public information meetings.
• Perform construction observation which may include:
  • Conducting field-required concrete or asphalt testing.
  • Preparing and documenting material reports, test results and material sources.
  • Maintaining daily inspection logs and addressing discrepancies with appropriate parties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• I. certification or ability to pass the F.E. exam within 6 months
• 0 – 5 years of experience in civil design
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent computer and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
• Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley CONNECT OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Office products is desirable.
• Knowledge of MN Department of Transportation (MnDOT) specifications and procedures is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Must be able to manage workload independently
