Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets with company representatives and stakeholders to discuss the audit process and request documents.
• Examines accounting records, tax filings, and ledgers to ensure compliance with GAAP and the Municipal Tax Ordinance.
• Interprets tax ordinances and reporting requirements for business managers and staff.
• Reviews tax returns and financial statements to verify tax liabilities.
• Audits transactions, invoices, and bank statements to ensure contract compliance and suggests corrective actions.
• Calculates taxes owed including penalties for non-compliance.
• Organizes financial data using computerized systems to present audit findings.
• Prepares summaries of tax findings for reports.
• Participates in special audits and related reporting.
• Assists in gathering records and supporting senior auditors.
• Additional duties may be required.
