Loop Capital invites motivated undergraduates for its Summer Internship Program in Municipal Sales & Trading. The internship will run June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027 with openings in Chicago, IL and New York, NY.

You will support daily market research, prep client calls, and analyze municipal bonds alongside seasoned professionals. The program emphasizes intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and real client interaction, offering hands-on experience with fixed income markets and trading

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a rising college Junior or Senior in Summer 2027 with a track record of high academic achievement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team with daily market research and analysis.
• Utilize Bloomberg and other market data platforms to gather and analyze information.
• Attend all applicable meetings and events, including early morning calls.
• Update sales records as necessary.
• Observe and learn sales skills and participate in client calls.
• Work independently and collaboratively to develop a final project and present findings to the firm.

Position Summary:

The Municipal Sales & Trading teams provide full services to our institutional customers. The teams cover all institutional clients including bond funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, ETFs and separately managed accounts. The Municipal Sales team is tasked with bringing Loop origination product to market, following and executing client inquiry daily and managing client relationships. The Municipal Trading teamMunicipal Trading team facilitates the buying and selling of municipal bonds by analyzing credit and market conditions, pricing and executing trades, and managing risk.
