Job summary

Garver Engineering is looking for a Project Manager to join our Transportation Team in Fort Smith or Conway, Arkansas. The successful candidate will lead project management, coordinate sub-consultants, and oversee project schedules while ensuring client satisfaction.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, an active PE license, and 8-15 years of relevant experience. Ideal candidates will also possess knowledge of roadway design software and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Eight to fifteen years of relevant experience.
• Practical working knowledge of AASHTO Green Book and related guidelines.
• Experience coordinating utility relocations and marketing activities.

Garver is seeking a Project Manager to serve as the River Valley Municipal Leader and join our growing Transportation Team in Fort Smith or Conway, Arkansas, continuing our tradition of reputable service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Project management
• Sub‑consultant coordination
• Project/task scheduling
• Civil design
• Plan production oversight
• Preparing cost estimates
• Client interaction and development
• Geometric design for roadways
• Drainage design
• Construction sequencing and traffic control
• Utility relocation coordination
• Marketing activities such as assisting in the production of proposals, letters of interest, and participation in interviews and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
• Eight to fifteen years of relevant experience
• Practical working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD)
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak or InRoads and/or other roadway design software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects
• 3D Design experience
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Arkansas, or the ability to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire
