You’re the attorney municipalities call when the Right-to-Know request hits the inbox and the clock starts ticking.

Our client, a growing Pennsylvania law firm, is building out its municipal and Right-to-Know Law practice and wants you to own complex RTKL matters for public-sector clients across the state.

You’ll be on the front line of open government – guiding elected officials, staff, and agencies through what must be disclosed, what can be protected, and how to defend those decisions before the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records.

Your work will be visible, consequential, and closely tied to how local government actually functions.

What You'll Work On

You’ll become a go-to counselor on Pennsylvania public records and municipal matters, including:

• Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL) questions and disputes
• Municipal public records policies and procedures
• RTKL requests, exemptions, redactions, and disclosures
• Appeals and hearings before the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records (OOR)
• Related municipal, administrative, and litigation matters
• Legal research and analysis tied to open records issues
• Client counseling for public-sector and governmental entities

You’ll live in the Pennsylvania RTKL and OOR landscape – advising, defending, and shaping how municipalities respond under pressure.

What You'll Be Doing

• Handling Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law matters on behalf of municipal clients
• Advising clients on public records requests, exemptions, redactions, and disclosure requirements
• Preparing and responding to RTKL requests and appeals
• Representing clients in matters before the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records (OOR)
• Conducting legal research on RTKL, municipal, and administrative issues
• Drafting correspondence, pleadings, and legal memoranda
• Managing your own RTKL and municipal files from intake through resolution
• Working directly with municipal officials, administrators, and staff
• Collaborating with colleagues on related municipal, administrative, and litigation matters
• Translating complex statutory and case law into clear, actionable guidance for clients

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
• Prior experience with Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law (RTKL) matters
• Background in municipal, government, administrative, or litigation work (preferred)
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication with public-sector clients
• Ability to independently manage matters and drive them forward
• Comfort working directly with clients and serving as a trusted advisor
