Job summary

The City and County of Broomfield Attorney’s Office is hiring a full-time Assistant City and County Attorney to join a collaborative team of 12 professionals. The role focuses on municipal prosecutions, open records, code enforcement, and advising city leadership, departments, boards, and commissions.

The ideal candidate has experience in municipal or government practice, strong research and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Colorado attorney-at-law admitted to practice in Colorado in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years as practicing attorney; municipal/government experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary prosecutor for municipal violations in the municipal court.
• Provide legal services to City and County leadership, departments, boards, and commissions.
• Draft and analyze ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and pending legislation.
• Handle open records requests and marijuana licensing.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside agencies.
