The City and County of Broomfield Attorney’s Office is seeking a full-time Assistant City and County Attorney to handle municipal prosecutions and related legal matters in a fast-paced municipal environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor and Colorado eligibility, two years of legal experience including municipal or government work, and the ability to draft, review and advise on ordinances, contracts, and open records matters while collaborating with city departments.

Qualificações

• Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Colorado and in good standing.
• Experience in municipal, county or government prosecutions preferred.
• Ability to draft and analyze ordinances, contracts and policies.
• Strong research and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Serves as the primary prosecutor for municipal violations in the Broomfield Municipal Court.
• Represents the City and County in state criminal competency and child support proceedings.
• Provides legal services to departments and boards including open records and licensing.
• Drafts, reviews and analyzes city ordinances, resolutions and contracts.
• Performs legal research on general and complex issues.
• Coordinates departmental activities with other agencies.
• Prepares staff reports and correspondence for leadership.
• Investigates claims against the City and County and initiates action.
• Prepares cases for hearings and represents the City and County in proceedings.
• Advises on policies and procedures to meet legal requirements.
