Job summary

TREKK Design Group, LLC is seeking a Professional Engineer for our Municipal Transportation team in Kansas City. This full-time, exempt role focuses on analysis, design and plan production for roadways, drainage and traffic control projects.

You will lead teams, prepare bid documents, and ensure deliverables meet scope, budget and schedule. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, PE licensure and 8+ years in municipal transportation design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer certification is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of municipal transportation design experience.

Professional Engineer Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis, design and plan production for transportation engineering projects, including roadways, highways, drainage, erosion control and traffic control
• Create job specifications and contract documents for bidding purposes
• Calculate quantities and construction cost estimating
• Use experience and skills to provide deliverables as outlined in project scope, within budget and on schedule
• Lead project team in quality control process

Education, Licensing, Certification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer certification required
• At least 8 years of experience in municipal transportation design

Required Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of MicroStation Open Roads and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D
• Working knowledge of design standards, including AASHTO, MUTCD and APWA
• Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
• Proven leadership skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
