Job summary

County of Prince George currently seeks a Payroll Supervisor to oversee payroll activities, ensure proper tax withholdings and deposits, and prepare quarterly and year-end data. Duties include creating and maintaining files, reports, and supervising all payroll functions, including payroll reporting of taxes, accruals and W2s.

The position reports to the Director of Finance and manages one employee. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting and experience in accounting,

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll systems and benefit program administration; thorough knowledge of GAAP for municipalities.
• Ability to evaluate complex financial systems and install accounting methods, procedures, forms and records.
• Ability to prepare informative financial reports and maintain files and records.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting related field; experience in accounting, financial reporting and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll activities and ensure accurate tax withholdings and deposits.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll data and reports.
• Maintain payroll files and records; ensure compliance.
• Supervise one employee and report to the Director of Finance.
