Job summary

City of Bellevue is seeking a Skilled Worker in the Parks Department Grounds Division to maintain City parks and sports fields, support park improvement projects, and manage irrigation systems. You will interact with the public and collaborate with full-time and seasonal staff to complete routine and special projects.

The role requires knowledge of turf, plant identification, and safety practices, along with a valid WA driver license and pesticide licensing or within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of professional park grounds maintenance experience.
• WA driver license by hire date; pesticide applicator license or within six months.
• Ability to learn City policies and maintenance standards.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Safety-minded and able to work with staff and public.

Responsibilities

• Maintain City parks and sports fields and perform park improvement projects.
• Perform general landscaping, irrigation repairs, grading and drainage tasks.
• Respond to public questions and work with full-time and seasonal staff.
• Operate or learn to operate heavy equipment and tools as listed in the job posting.
• Support emergency weather response and routine maintenance tasks.
