Job summary

The City of Cedar Park is seeking a Network Administrator to manage and secure its LAN/WAN, wireless deployments, and phone systems. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Information Technology, you will ensure high availability, performance, and safety of data and voice networks across municipal departments.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree and 2+ years of network administration experience, with CompTIA Network+ certification (required) and CCNA/Security+ preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; 2+ years of network administration experience.
  • Valid Texas driver license required.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification (or equivalent) required; CCNA/Security+ or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Monitor network performance for reliability, security and uptime.
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN and wireless issues across environments.
  • Administer, maintain, and support VoIP / IP telephony.
  • Coordinate with vendors for upgrades and support as needed.
  • Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and testing; ensure business continuity.
