Job summary

City of Hialeah is seeking a Parks and Recreation Maintenance worker to perform a variety of manual labor tasks and support city facilities and event setups. You will operate light equipment, perform repairs to irrigation and sidewalks, and assist with grounds upkeep across city parks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver’s license, and within six months a Class B CDL with air brakes and an N endorsement. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED with 12 months of manual labor experience.
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Within six months of Civil Service Exam, obtain a Class “B” CDL with air brakes and an “N” Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and maintenance on irrigation systems and sidewalks.
• Maintain city facilities and park areas, including lawns, shrubs and landscaping.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for citywide events.
• Operate light equipment such as mowers, sod cutters and small machinery.
• Keep simple records and assist with inventory in Parks and Recreation facilities.
