Qualifications

• Active California Bar license and 5+ years advising public agencies.
• Significant experience with transactional and municipal advisory matters.
• Direct experience advising planning commissions or public bodies.
• Strong knowledge of the Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Political Reform Act.
• Experience in land use, CEQA/NEPA, development agreements, or redevelopment.
• Excellent legal writing, drafting, and client counseling.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Advise cities and public agencies on municipal law matters.
• Serve as legal counsel to planning commissions and public boards.
• Provide guidance regarding Brown Act, Public Records Act, and Political Reform Act compliance.
• Draft and negotiate transactional agreements and municipal contracts.
• Advise clients on land use, zoning, and entitlement matters.
• Provide legal analysis involving CEQA, NEPA, and environmental compliance.
• Counsel clients on development agreements and redevelopment matters.
• Attend planning commission, council, and public agency meetings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
• Draft ordinances, resolutions, agreements, and policy documents.
• Collaborate with public officials and agency staff on complex legal issues.
• Travel as needed to attend client meetings and public hearings.
