Job summary

The City of Visalia is recruiting for a Professional Land Surveyor. This role focuses on city surveying duties under the Subdivision Map Act, performing complex surveys, mapping, and leadership of survey and CADD staff within the CIP Engineering Division.

Ideal candidate has extensive municipal surveying experience, familiarity with parcel and final maps, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble software. Open until filled; on-site work in Visalia, CA.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of technical and professional surveying experience.
• A municipal surveying background including parcel, tentative, and final maps, and preparation of legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex surveys (topographic, construction staking, boundary surveys) and provide mapping services as City Surveyor.
• Coordinate survey crews and CADD staff to meet project needs and schedules.
• Review and certify final subdivision/parcel maps and exhibits for real property transactions.
