Job summary

The City of Lufkin is seeking an Engineering Technician to provide technical and administrative support for municipal engineering, utility coordination, CAD/GIS mapping, GPS data collection, and infrastructure records. You will review water and sewer requests, develop plans, and assist with field data collection and coordination.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, drafting, GIS, surveying, or related field.
• One year of municipal public works, engineering plan review, GIS, CAD, GPS data collection, or related work.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License Class C with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review water and sewer service requests, utility coordination, and development plans.
• Prepare CAD drawings and GIS maps; assist with field data collection and project coordination.
• Perform field inspections and maintain CAD/GIS records and infrastructure inventories.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, utilities, contractors, and other departments on infrastructure matters.
• Respond to citizen concerns and inquiries; provide effective public service.
• Ensure compliance with City standards and regulations in plans and maps.
