Job summary

The City of San Diego seeks a Financial Operations Manager to oversee accounting, budget, disbursements, and financial reporting within the Department of Finance. You will lead the Grant/Successor Agency/Debt/Public Utilities Accounting sections and ensure accurate GAAP reporting.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/BA, 3 years of progressive management experience, and strong communication skills. Municipal experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience.
• Municipal government experience desired.
• Combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, budget, disbursements and financial reporting functions.
• Lead Grant/Successor Agency/Debt/Public Utilities Accounting sections.
• Prepare Schedule of Federal Awards, ROPS, and related reports to City Council.
• Present financial information to City Council and committees.
