Job summary

The Town of Matthews seeks a Finance Director of Budget and Financial Strategy to lead the Finance Department as the town's CFO and executive team member. You will guide budget development, financial strategy, and policy considerations, reporting to the Town Manager and presenting to Town Commissioners.

You will oversee centralized accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, grant administration, procurement, and financial reporting for a $47.6 million operating budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field with 7+ years in budget and fiscal management.
• Experience leading financial operations and staff.
• Master's degree and public sector/local government finance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee centralized accounting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and grant administration.
• Lead budget development and capital planning for a $47.6 million operating budget.
• Develop financial strategy, forecasting, and policy considerations.
• Provide leadership to a three-person finance team.
• Present financial information to Town Commissioners and stakeholders.
