Job summary

The City of Bloomington is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform a range of manual labor and skilled tasks in the upkeep of municipal buildings, parks, streets, and storm sewers. Duties include building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, snow removal, and assisting with cemetery work.

A Minnesota boiler license is required within six months, and overtime or on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Possess a Minnesota Special Boiler License within six months of employment.
• Possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of building structure, exterior and envelope.
• Inspect, perform routine maintenance and repair of building mechanical systems.
• Maintenance and repair of doors, door hardware and closers.
• Maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and related fixtures.
• Snow removal from stairs, doorway and sidewalks using shovels and powered equipment.
• Remodels including wall demolition, construction, flooring, and painting.
• Installation and repair of modular office furniture.
• Operates and maintains equipment and tools used by the Maintenance Division; service as needed.
• Performs cemetery maintenance, landscaping, and related tasks; assist families as needed.
• Adheres to safety rules and work policies; work overtime or on-call as required.
