Job summary

RETTEW is seeking an experienced Municipal Engineering Project Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to municipal clients while leading infrastructure and community-development initiatives. You will build long-term relationships, review development submissions, and guide communities on growth, capital investments, and infrastructure needs.

You’ll combine engineering judgment, project leadership, and client relationships to influence local communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience in the AEC industry with municipal engineering and project-management responsibility.
• Experience serving municipalities or public-sector clients.
• Experience managing engineering projects with scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
• Experience reviewing subdivision/land development submissions and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of municipal ordinances, permitting, and infrastructure planning.
• Strong written communication for reports and recommendations.
• Willingness to attend evening meetings and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering representative and trusted advisor for municipal clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with municipal officials and stakeholders.
• Manage projects from planning through completion with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Review submissions for compliance with ordinances and standards.
• Prepare technical letters, reports, and recommendations for clients.
• Advise officials on improvements, infrastructure needs, and development activities.
• Present at municipal meetings, planning commissions, and hearings.
• Explain complex engineering issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Coordinate with developers, agencies, consultants, and RETTEW teams.
• Support capital planning for transportation, stormwater, utilities, and community projects.
• Identify risks and practical solutions and expand client relationships.
