Reporting to the Deputy Town Engineer, the position focuses on supervision, coaching, and performance management of the inspection team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, construction management, project management, or a related field.
• Considerable related engineering, construction administration, inspection, or project management experience, preferably in a municipal or utilities setting.
• Engineer Intern, Project Management Professional, construction inspection, erosion control, stormwater, or related certifications preferred.
• Possession of a valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned capital projects and coordinate consultant and contractor work.
• Support development review and oversee construction documentation.
• Supervise construction inspection personnel and coordinate field activities.
• Assign and review inspection work, establish inspection priorities, and coordinate field coverage.
• Provide coaching and training and support performance management for inspection staff.
• Focus on project delivery, construction coordination, field inspection management, consultant and contractor coordination, and day-to-day supervision.
