Peoria Municipal Court has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Municipal Court Guard dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of court facilities. This position is responsible for controlling access to the Municipal Court, enforcing rules and regulations, monitoring security devices, and conducting facility inspections to identify and address security or safety issues. The Municipal Court Guard also provides assistance by answering questions and offering information to the public.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to:

• Interact with the public who may be angry and/or hostile, while maintaining composure.
• Understand Court procedures and processes.
• Monitor and evaluate video security systems, as well as electronic fire and security alarm systems.
• Identify hazardous or unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people.
• Prepare, write, and edit documents utilizing Excel and Word.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Demonstrate previous experience in a Municipal Court or government setting.
• Record and process fingerprints.
• Work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Education

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
  
  

Experience

• 1 year of related experience required. The job requires a working knowledge of customer service and security techniques, methods, practices and procedures
  
  

Licenses And Certifications

• AED/CCC/Fire Extinguisher/Evacuation training required within 6 months of hire
• Individuals hired for the Court Assignment are required to attain an Arizona State Criminal Justice Information Systems Terminal Operator Certification within 6 month of hire – obtained through on the job training.
• Court-employed Court Security Officers (CSOs) to complete the CSO Academy and become certified CSOs within 90 days of hire with the Arizona Judicial Branch.
