Job summary

City of Alabaster is seeking a knowledgeable Magistrate for the Municipal Court to issue warrants, accept pleas, record fines, and support court administration. A Municipal Court Magistrate certification is required to qualify.

The role offers a salary range of $24.35–$33.70 per hour, with benefits including medical insurance, retirement programs, life insurance, and paid holidays, among others. Nighttime and weekend call-outs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of related administrative experience.
• Current certification as a Municipal Court Magistrate.
• Ability to obtain NCIC operator certification.
• Eligibility for appointment as an Alabama Notary Public.
• Valid Alabama driver's license and maintenance throughout employment.
• Availability to participate in a nighttime and weekend call-out rotation.

Salary Range: $24.35 - $33.70 per hour

The City of Alabaster is seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and service-oriented professional to join our Municipal Court team as a Magistrate.

The purpose of this position is to exercise authority as assigned by law to issue warrants, accept pleas, receive and record fines, provide clerical and administrative support to the Municipal Court, and perform other duties mandated by applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Applicants must currently possess certification as a Municipal Court Magistrate to qualify for this position.

_ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS _

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of related administrative experience
• Current certification as a Municipal Court Magistrate
• Ability to obtain certification as a National Crime Information Center computer operator
• Eligibility for appointment as an Alabama Notary Public
• Valid Alabama driver’s license that must be maintained throughout employment
• Availability to participate in a nighttime and weekend call-out rotation
