Job summary

City of Logan is seeking a qualified information representative to manage public information, social media, and related communications for the Administration department in Logan, Utah.

The role requires a journalism-related degree, social media experience, and notary eligibility, with a preference for two years of related experience and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time, on-site position in Logan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Must have previous social media experience.
• Must be eligible to serve as a notary public.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of general duties related to public information development and dissemination.
• Coordinates and edits publications, coordinates special events, helps to develop key communication messages and manages graphic standards.
• Prepares articles, marketing information for print, radio, and digital media and program brochures; prepares public service announcements and news releases; develops program brochures; coordinates social media, newspaper advertisements; and serves as information liaison with the media for City of Logan services and information needs; updates the City website.
• Performs a variety of administrative and advanced clerical duties for City Recorder; acts as notary public, attests to signatures on official documents and contracts; assists City staff.
• Attends professional group meetings and stays abreast of trends in municipal government.
• Acts as City Recorder in the absence of the City Recorder.
• Performs related duties as required.
