Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineering Intern for the Municipal group during the 2027 summer season in Cedar Rapids, IA.

You will support civil engineering projects in the field and office, assisting with construction phase activities for transportation projects and building technical skills for an engineering career. Applicants must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program, with at least a 2.8 GPA (3.2+ preferred).

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• GPA minimum 2.8; desired 3.2+
• Sophomore or higher with coursework in surveying and AutoCAD drafting.

Responsibilities

• Asist on civil engineering projects including planning and design tasks.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with construction observation and staking duties.
• Potentially work on design calculations and review shop drawings.
