Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and municipal accounting skills.
• Experience with municipal purchasing and financial procedures.
• Ability to prepare and interpret accounting reports.
• Strong attention to confidentiality and accuracy.
• Experience supervising or training others is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares an annual or partial budget, allocates priorities and documents decisions.
• Monitors and prepares cost accounting reports.
• Posts and balances general and subsidiary accounts.
• Audits, computes, and records financial transactions.
• Posts budget adjustments and reviews requisitions for goods and services.
• Supervises accounting personnel in processing and purchasing tasks.
• Prepares specifications for purchases and uploads purchasing card records.
• Monitors financial accounts for accuracy and compiles departmental reports.
• Performs grant administration as needed.
• Responds to inquiries from the public and internal stakeholders.
