Job summary

The Town of Leesburg seeks a seasoned Town Attorney to advise and represent the Town Council, Mayor, Town Manager, boards and departments on legal matters.

You will handle general municipal law issues, land use, employment litigation, and labor relations, with at least 7 years of practice and supervisory experience. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. First review on November 30, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must have a JD from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing of the Virginia State Bar.
• Minimum of 7 years practicing law, including supervisory experience.
• Municipal utility experience, land use, employment litigation, labor relations, legislative and public finance.

Responsibilities

• The Town Attorney serves the Town of Leesburg in all the Town’s legal matters.
• Advises and represents the Town Council, Mayor, Town Manager, Town officials including Boards and Commissions, and Town departments on legal matters affecting the Town and its laws, operations, policies and procedures.
