Job summary

NVE is seeking a General Maintenance Worker with 4+ years of experience to troubleshoot and learn trades alongside licensed mechanics and electricians. This role conducts maintenance, responds to service requests, and performs minor repairs across building systems, with instruction from supervisors.

The position involves planning installations and guiding others in general mechanic tasks within a union environment, and requires basic office equipment familiarity and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have at least four years of experience in maintenance or related trades.
• Understand written and oral instructions and perform required work.
• Able to read blueprints and generate design concepts using available tools.
• Capable of using power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Willingness to respond to service requests and perform after-hours repairs.

Responsibilities

• Makes minor adjustments and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance such as changing filters and cleaning equipment.
• Assists with renovations, installations, and repairs of building components.
• Responds to service requests and supports other building operations.
• Operates forklift or man lift as needed and follows safety guidelines.
