Job summary

University Health System- San Antonio is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing and fireproofing tasks across UHS facilities, ensuring safe, competent and timely work. You will estimate materials and labor, and comply with policies and procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in building trades, and a Maintenance Technician License from the City of San Antonio or enrollment to obtain it within three months; a

Qualifications

Completion of high school, trade school or equivalent GED is required.
One year experience in building crafts such as general maintenance, construction, plumbing or electricity is required.
Must possess a Maintenance Technician License from the City of San Antonio or obtain same within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Performs minor maintenance carpentry, electrical, plumbing and fire proofing necessary to the maintenance, repair and renovation of University Health System buildings and facilities.
Ensures safe, competent, efficient, and timely performance of assigned tasks.
Cares for and uses materials, supplies, tools, and equipment properly.
Estimates materials, labor costs, and requisitions.
Complies with UHS and departmental policies and procedures.
